Particularities: Cephalotes are well-armoured tree dwellers. Their natural habitats are the forests of Central and South America. These ants have very flat heads, which they use to block their nest entrance. Thanks to their tortoise-like ducking and the way they lay back their feelers alongside special indentations on their heads, they are almost impossible for other ants to attack. They have excellent eyesight and can thus react quick as lightning to movements in their vicinity. This species is very well-suited for keeping in a shared tank.
