Particularities: This small Camponotus species from southern Europe is often found in dry, shaded areas. They nest as happily in soil as in decayed wood. Larger workers can serve as ‘honey pots’, storing food in their large abdomen. Their colouring is very similar to that of Crematogaster scutellaris.
