Particularities: Ants from the Myrmecia species are also known as ‘Bulldog Ants’. They are typically characterised by their long mandibles and keen eyesight. Their sting can be similar to that of a wasp. This strikingly coloured Myrmecia species is somewhat larger than Myrmecia pavida, but also a little slower to develop. The head is typically dark in colour.
