Particularities: Colonies from this Crematogaster species from Asia have several queens. These ants nest mostly in wood and hollows. These colonies can achieve major population strength. A typical feature of the Crematogaster species is its powerful chemical defence mechanism; when provoked, worker ants curl their abdomen upwards and secrete their defence substance through its extremity. They are good recruiters and form long columns.
