Particularities: Just like Odontomachus, the Anochetus genus belongs to trap-jaw ants. Their mandibles are equipped with an internal mechanism and can snap shut on small prey. This genus also has a stinger. Thanks to the force of the sudden shutting of their mandibles, they can even propel themselves up to several centimetres away. This species is quite temperature-sensitive.
