Particularities: The Paraponera clavata is one of the largest ants in the world. These ants live in the tropical rainforest and must imperatively be kept in a plant-filled tank. This is a calm and unaggressive species which can be kept in a shared tank. These ants are very quick to adapt to their environment and soon learn to eat out of one's hand. Their most eye-catching feature is the golden colour of their lower front legs. Their sting can be painful. They are also known as ‘24 hour ants’.
